Progress on site has been going well.   The subframe for the building (steel frame and floors) are now complete and the envelope and roof are near completion.

There have been numerous visits to the site from local students and teachers as they prepare for life in their new school.  Their feedback has been very encouraging for all involved.

This is a building, not just for the children, but for the local community aswell.  With a huge Goals facilities in place and with sports pitches, Multi-use-games-areas and sports hall to be made available to all the locality.  The building’s facilities will be available to the local community once complete.

Here are some figures of the new school.

The design is compact to minimise the footprint whilst the W form creates heart spaces which form as a social hub. A second entrance will be formed for the majority of pedestrian traffic from the south and the circulation is clear and legible. Passive supervision is achieved by the open nature of the design with north lights in the art spaces provide constant good quality natural light without solar gains.      wpaae03271.png

Plasterboard cut to size and material management through Educo’s ‘Save It’ scheme. Recycled aggregate is utilised in preference to quarried materials. wpaae03271.png
